adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 REVIEW: 2016’s Leading Shoe

Welcome to my adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 review! There’s only one other shoe that I gave a 10/10 rating. It was the D Lillard 2.0. That’s changed now. Seriously, if you want an awesome all-around shoe for cheap, just stop reading the review and pick them up.

But regardless, I’ll talk about the shoe’s tech specs, the fit, performance, the upper and decide it it’s worth the price. Let’s start the adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 review!

BOOST

The cushion setup we all love, we have a full-length BOOST setup, which is incredibly comfortable and responsive.

SPRINTPLATE

A new technology that acts pretty much like TORSION SYSTEM. It’s a plate between the forefoot and heel areas for stability and support.

CONTINENTAL RUBBER

A very durable and performance-friendly rubber compound that is great for outdoors too.

NON-MARKING OUTSOLE

Yes, what the name says.

TRUE TO SIZE, ZERO PROBLEMS

So they fit with no problems, simple as that. True to size, stable, comfortable, not restrictive at all and you got some ventilation.

I mean that’s literally all you want from the shoe’s fit. I didn’t have any slippage, pain or stability issues. Everything was fine. Of course, I’ll give huge props to that awesome jacquard upper the D Lillard 2 also used.

PERFORMANCE

CUSHION

Full-length BOOST is where it’s at. Pure awesomeness. This isn’t your Crazylight 2015 Setup (where it only had it in the heel). This PURE comfort, bounce, responsiveness, some impact protection and just confidence.

My favorite cushion setup was from the D Rose 6, but this is pretty much the best thing ever right now. Not too soft, not too firm, just right. Right for any guard, right for any small forward.

TRACTION

Once again, that Continental Rubber is very very much appreciatedThe traction pattern is pretty dense, but surprisingly, it doesn’t clog dust up that much. This is an interesting take on the compound – the white rubber is softer, while the black one is firmer and more durable.

In result, this is a fantastic setup both for indoors and outdoors. That’s awesome.

SUPPORT

For a low top, there’s NOTHING wrong with the shoe’s support. A TPU heel counter, a torsional bar, SPRINTPLATE, the relatively supportive upper and a snug fit.

All this ensures the shoe has killer support, and it does. And better yet, it doesn’t compromise mobility or comfort thanks to that upper and BOOST.

UPPER

RIDICULOUSLY NICE JACQUARD

The upper comse in two versions: jacquard and Primeknit. The version in the review is jacquard, and it comes in two colors – white and red.

So this upper feels similarly to the Lillard 2 – supportive, light, comfortable. Even though it doesn’t stretch that much, this one of my favorite uppers you can get for a guard. Also, minimal break-in time and some amount of ventilation.

As for the Primeknit version, it’s a bit pricier but you do get that uper premium feel Primeknit gives you. That means it’s even a bit lighter, more mobile, more breathable, and a tad bit more comfortable since it’s crazy soft. It would be less durable because it’s a knit though.

FINAL VERDICT

BEST FOR PRETTY MUCH ANY GUARD

So the Crazylight Boost 2016 by adidas is a stellar shoe. No gimmicks, no issues, great pricing and killer all-around performance.

There isn’t much to talk about apart from GO GET IT RIGHT KNOW!

+ UNRIVALED ALL-AROUND PERFORMANCE

+ ALSO COMES IN A PREMIUM PRIMEKNIT VARIANT

+ GREAT FOR OUTDOORS

I LEGITIMATELY CAN’T FIND ANY FLAWS

I hope you found this review helpful and I seriously mean it, don’t think twice about getting this shoe for basketball.
