Air Jordan 13 Retro “Olive” edition

The Air Jordan 13 is known for embodying Michael Jordan’s “black cat” alter-ego. Like many other Air Jordans before it, the Air Jordan 13 is designed by the renowned shoe designer Tinker Hatfield. The original Air Jordan 13 (which was released in 1998) has outsoles with animal paw-like pads, and an upper constructed with a combination of reflective mesh, suede and leather.

The so-called “Panther” paws on the outsole and the cat-eye hologram on the heel are the most distinctive features on all of the of the Air Jordan 13 shoes. And such features are also seen in one of the latest editions, the Air Jordan 13 Retro “Olive.” It was released on January 20, 2018, and debuted at a retail price of $190.

Taking note of the pricing, the Air Jordan 13 Retro “Olive” is a premium shoe. It’s because for the first time in Air Jordan 13’s history, this iteration’s upper is fully dressed in suede. This classic sneaker boasts a color scheme consisting of black, true red and light olive. While the previous Air Jordan 13’s are traditionally clad with leather, the “Olive” edition has a black suede that replaces the leather part.

The light olive color touches on the midsole and heel. Red accents pop out of the almost-black color scheme: the Jumpman logo is seen on the top of the outer tongue and on the insole. The red accents continue on the outsole, which featuers the animal paws-like padding. The signature cat eye-like hologram bubble is situated on the heel, just like the other Air Jordan 13 shoes.

If you an ardent follower of the Air Jordan’s starting all the way from the first shoes, you might have recalled that this current edition of the Air Jordan 13 is reminiscent of the Air Jordan 9 “Olive,” which was released during the early 1990s. That’s why the Air Jordan 13 Retro “Olive” has somewhat a retro look and feel.

The Air Jordan 13 Retro “Olive” is still available on Nike.com. You can also purchase these shoes on other online stores (such as Amazon; see the link below). Pricing differs and depends on the seller.
