Renowned streetwear designer Don C (who owns the Just Don line) and Jordan brand have had an eventful collaboration together which has spawned a series of sneakers called the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 (or sometimes simply Air Jordan Legacy 312).
You can expect a hybrid of different design elements from this collection. The designs of these shoes are inspired by the other sneakers like the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 3 and the Nike Air Alpha Force.
The first two colorways from the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 series are the “Storm Blue” and the NRT “Ghost Green,” both of which debuted last July. Several colorways followed: “Tech Challenge,” “Command Force,” “Air Trainer 3,” “Varsity Red,” “Black Cement,” “Hyper Jade,” “Lakers,” “Pistons,” “Knicks,” and “Rookie of the Year.” As you may have noticed, some of the versions feature mockups of the LA Lakers, the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons styles.
The blend of different design elements inspired by other Nike and Air Jordan sneakers have made the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 shoes truly a standout. All iterations feature Air Jordan 1’s upper, Air Jordan 3’s midsole and some design details from the Nike Air Alpha Force Low such as the big strap in the mid-foot. You can see some other unique features that you cannot find in other shoes such as the special “Just Don” on the tongue tag, in place of the usual “Nike Air” logo.
The design of the silhouette pays homage to legacy of the Air Jordan as well as Don C’s home city, Chicago which, of course, also happens to be the home city of the Bulls. The “312” in the name is derived from the area code in downtown Chicago.
So from the design perspective alone, the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 might be worth purchasing. The shoes’ pricing depends on the the colors, but the launching price is usually around $150. Taking different designs and materials from the other shoes, you can say that the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 is a history-in-one kind of shoe.
The upper of the Don C x Air Jordan Legacy 312 is a combination of leather and synthetic materials for durable and sturdy support, and the midfoot strap adds to a better fit and lockdown. In the midsole, it features the visible Air Sole unit like in the original Air Jordan 3 (the first Air Jordan shoe to have this feature) for a comfortable and responsive cushioning.
