2010 NBA Finals – Kobe gets another ring – Game 7

There is a sadness when watching Kobe, one of the all-time greats, but we should all look back on his incredible career at some point, and the Lakers-Celtics game is a classic. Bryant actually didn’t hit the very top of his form in this game, but he got 23 points to his name.

The Celtics had defended to a decent standard, but Ron Artest was the one they couldn’t handle. The game culminated in an incredible three-pointer with just a minute to go, which won them the Finals and made sure that Bryant would even overtake Shaq in terms of number of Championship Rings.

Ron Artest would later pay tribute to his therapist for helping him to win the game.

2013 NBA Finals – Mike Breen’s famous commentary – Game 6

This is one of the most famous series of recent years, and this matchup saw some incredible basketball played.

Ray Allen’s savior of Miami’s consecutive title shot sticks in the memory, as he made one of the biggest shots in the history of the game. Allen tied things up right at the death, but watching that fourth quarter shows what an incredible talent LeBron was, although he hadn’t done too much for the first three quarters.

He would go on to boss Game 7 of the series too, and eventually James along with Wade and Bosh got their second championship together.

2018 NBA Finals – LeBron shows his class, and JR Smith’s infamous image

The Cavaliers were not quite at the level required to keep up with the Warriors in this one, and LeBron put on a masterclass, dropping 51 points. They went into overtime tied, though, and an image (or meme) for the ages was born, with James looking on in despair with his arms out as the clock ticked down. Twitter was awash with jokes and the meme is still used today.

LeBron had an all-time classic game. The warriors would still manage to come through victorious.

2011 NBA Finals – Dirk inspired – Game 2

Miami looked like they were going to coast to victory in this one, with LeBron, Bosh and Wade all on form and seemingly too good for the opposition. With just seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, Wade managed to shoot a three-pointer that completed a 13-0 run

But the Mavs would call a timeout and somehow manage to turn things around. Game 2 was a different proposition at the end of that quarter and it seemed like nothing was going to stop them on an incredible 22-5 run that saw them victorious in Game 2, with Miami shell-shocked.

2000 NBA Finals – Kobe dominates overtime, Shaq passes the torch

Shaq might not have wanted to look at it this way, but this was effectively a symbolic time when Kobe Bryant would take over from Shaquille O’Neal, who would foul out of the game. Shaq’s legacy did, however, continue from the 1990s and into the 2000s.

Kobe showed that he had the ability to go into incredible mode, and scored with three consecutive possessions in OT, which took the LA Lakers to a 3-1 lead in the series. It was Game 6 when they would eventually seal the win.

If you want to watch a young talent coming of age, this could be the ideal NBA finals game to watch.
