Under Armour Curry 2 Review | Best Of 2015

Welcome to my Under Armour Curry 2 review! The Curry One was already a great shoe to begin with. In the same year of 2015, the second amazingly popular Stephen Curry’s signature sneaker Curry Two (2) has arrived, and it looks like some drastic changes were made.

We’ll take a look at the shoe’s tech, performance, comfort, materials and decide if it’s worth the price.

If you’re more into lows, here’s a review of the Curry Two Low. It also has some minor improvements from the Mid.

My Rating: 8.5/10

THE TECH

Charged is shoe’s cushioning setup. It is focused on responsiveness and speed.

SpeedForm is a part of the upper material. It’s not fully featured, just in some spots to make sure you’re not getting zero support. It’s a great technology and makes the shoe very comfortable.

PERFORMANCE

FIT/COMFORT

This is one of the most comfortable sneakers to date, period. Everything about it scream comfort. The awesome upper, the stable cushioning, a one-to-one fit and some nice interior padding.

A had zero complaints with the fit. They do feel a little wobbly at first, but I kinda got used to it. I guess you feel that way after wearing solid upper shoes.

CUSHION

We have the newest Charged cushioning on the Curry Two. This setup is solely for guards – responsive, light, stable and quite firm. Not a lot of impact protection or bounce, but that’s how it should be in this case.

TRACTION

Traction is easily the shoe’s highlight. They grip the floor extremely well with no slipping or anything like that. The pattern isn’t too dense, so dust won’t be a huge issue. I wouldn’t take this outdoors though. But indoors, definitely zero problems.

SUPPORT

Support is fine, but this is a personal preference. If you’re a guard who needs mobility instead of support, this will work brilliantly. However, people who need lots of support won’t like these. Simple as that. The setup is completely fine, it knows what it’s made for.

MATERIALS

The upper Under Armour’s SpeedForm synthetic with mesh. A very comfortable setup, though like I said, not a supportive one. And not a durable one. As long as you keep them indoors, they’re fine.

Solid ventilation and almost no break-in time needed. That’s good.

FINAL VERDICT

The Under Armour Curry 2 is definitely one of the best shoes of this year. Even though they don’t have the beloved MicroG cushioning, Charged still does it’s job well in a different, lightweight and responsive way.

Support is better than decent, even with the loose ankle material, which could feel great for some people. Traction is superb and one of the best right now.

As for durability, as long as you stay outdoors, you’ll be perfectly fine. Taking them outdoors is at your own risk. At the end of the day, all mainstream basketball shoes are not meant to be played outdoors.

PROS

+ Fantastic traction
+ Very comfortable and proper fit for a guard
+ Very responive cushion

CONS

 Strictly focused on guards
