Nike Kyrie Flytrap Black/White-Volt

For the budget-conscious sneakerheads who still want to snap up a pair of Nike’s (or specifically Kyrie’s), be prepared to rejoice as Nike and court legend Kyrie Irving had released a pocket-friendly signature sneaker. Dubbed as the Nike Kyrie Flytrap, it is definitely one of the cheapest shoes that we could ever find, so far.

Probably because it is a budget-friendly performance shoe, the design and the colorway are pretty much simple. Referred to as a “Core” shoe rather than a signature shoe, the Nike Kyrie Flytrap Black/White Volt comes in a simple black-and-white colorway, with subtle hints of Volt.

It comes with the Zoom Air cushioning and a mesh upper or a knit fabric to promote flexibility and breathability. Looking much closer, the upper consists of entirely black. The Phylon-injected midsole is entirely white, while the durable rubber outsole has a white-black-yellow color scheme and Volt accents, with the herringbone traction tread for a more improved grip. The “Swoosh” logo is also seen on the outsole. The black laces are pretty straightforward, just like the laces of other sneakers.

You can also see the numbers “11” (Kyrie Irving’s jersey number) embossed on the heel. The white Kyrie logo stands out at the top of the shoe’s all-black tongue. It also features a cushioned collar and asymmetrical tongue for improved comfort when worn. The insole has a soft fabric lining and a cushion for additional comfort.

Kyrie Irving is an American but he was born in Australia. The “Flytrap” name is a nod to his connection with the land Down Under, where the Venus flytrap plant is widespread. The earlier Nike Kyrie 1 also bears the “Flytrap” name.

The Nike Kyrie Flytrap was released on March 6, 2018, and debuted at a retail price of $80.

The Nike Kyrie Flytrap’s low pricepoint is one of the things make these shoes accessible to the wider buying public. Despite the price, these shoes do not sacrifice performance, comfort, quality and style. Its simple and subtle colorway makes these shoes readily wearable. With these attributes, shoe critics and end consumers have rated the Nike Kyrie Flytrap Black/White Volt quite favorably.
