Puma RS-0

Mixing the world of sports, fashion and lifestyle, Puma has released the RS (Running System), which combines contemporary design and innovative sports technology.. The RS line was originally launched in 1986 and featured high-quality cushioning technology to meet the demand for high-tech stability runners back then. Puma has now bought the technology back in 2018 with a totally reworked silhouette –thus the birth of RS-0.

The original RS was an innovative technology in the ‘80s that was considered extremely advanced at the time. It was followed by RS Computer Shoe, which was the first-ever analytical shoe that provided runners with the power of computing to aid in performance. It was the future retro shoe of the day, where there are no smartwatches or smartphones that can track your fitness progress.

Puma RS-0 blends high-tech cutting edge sneaker features with the comforts of a good running shoe. The running shoe has been updated with a new construction, materials and production techniques. It has a slightly slimmer profile than its RS-100 counterpart, but reinterpreting the original’s high-end cushioning technology. RS-0 has a more contemporary shape and aesthetic, with a toned-down midsole and simpler paneling. The midsole has a new and lighter PU foam compound that offers extreme rebound and comfort. It also included the new bootie sock construction, updating the OG tongue construction.

On the outside, you can see the plastic ribbed detailing on the heel, as well as the leather tongue branding. The striped PUMA branding can be visible on the medial side to echo the sneaker’s ‘80s influence.

Puma RS-0 is inspired by the technology that affects our culture, with colors and styles reflecting the RS stories of re-invention, such as gaming, photography and music.

Puma RS-0 are available in different colorways, and some are yet to be released. These sneakers can be purchased from Puma.com and also from Amazon (links below).
