So I found the regular Crazy Explosive reaaaaaally good. It was an awesome shoe with awesome BOOST cushion. But now, we have the low top version. Low top fans, this could really be the next big thing for you. So after playing in them for a few weeks, here’s my adidas Crazy Explosive Low review.
I’ll talk about the shoe’s tech specs, fit, performance, materials and decide it it’s worth the price. Let’s start the adidas Crazy Explosive Low review!
So before I move in to the review, I’ll say that the overall feel and performance of the shoe hasn’t changed. It’s pretty much the same shoe with a low cut. If you want to know how they perform in great detail, head over to my Crazy Explosive Primeknit review.

THE TECH
BOOST
The exact same cushion setup – full-length BOOST and it’s AWESOME. Bounce, impact protection, stability, comfort, everything.
FIT
TRUE TO SIZE, AMAZING
These have an identical fit to the Mid version, it’s just that people who tend to play in low tops will love these even more. They’re a bit lighter and there’s nothing on your ankle.
Besides that, you get the same amazing feel that’s soft, breathable, mobile and contained.
PERFORMANCE
PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING
It’s no use for me to repeat everything I’ve said in the Mid review. It has the same standards and tech specs, and performed the same for me, except that it was a low top. Which did feel a bit more mobile but, again, that depends if you like lows or not.
The same awesome traction, BEASTLY cushion, killer support, lockdown.
UPPER
COME IN TWO VARIANTS
The low tops also come in two uppers – some kind of soft mesh/synthetic type of material and Primeknit.
I played in the non-Primeknit one and it was just as good. The same killer comfort, the freedom, breathability. You don’t need to break these in at all. I wouldn’t take these outdoors because of the weak rubber compound and this soft material but this is perfect for an indoor shoe.
The only difference you’d get from the Primeknit version is I guess they would be a bit lighter, softer and even less bothering to your foot. But I’m only talking about a minor difference here.
PRICE VS. QUALITY
QUALITY WINS
There’s much to say about these. A killer all-in-one low top package that will get the job done. Adidas has been doing awesome lately by providing cheap models that perform really well.
$120 for these is a steal. Get them and forget it.
FINAL VERDICT
BEST FOR ANY GUARD WHO LIKES LOWS
The Crazy Explosive Mid performance in a low top form factor.
+ COMFORT IS LIKE NO OTHER SHOE
+ SUPER SOFT AND BOUNCY, YET STABLE CUSHION
+ SOLID SUPPORT & LOCKDOWN WITH LOTS OF MOBILITY
– TRACTION AND THE UPPER IS WEAK FOR OUTDOOR PLAY
