Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” edition

With its undulating teal, white and pink stripes, you cannot deny how flashy and eye-catching the Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” edition looks. The shoe is most likely inspired by the Miami Heat’s “Miami Vice”-themed limited edition jerseys with pink and teal accents, that Nike seemed to bring the summery “South Beach” color scheme back to its silhouette.

The Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” edition was released on March 31, 2018, as a continuation of Nike’s Air Max Day celebrations which began a few days back. It was initially made available on Nike’s SNKRS app and a few select retailers. It debuted at a retail price of $160 a pair.

This classic silhouette features a combination of “Kinetic Green” and “Pink Blast” along with white for a colorful palette. A 3M reflective detailing, a white midsole and a black-and-white rubber outsole complete the shoe’s overall look. The Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” seems perfect for spring and summer wear.

Like many Air Max models, this shoe boasts the almost full-length Air Max cushion technology which can be seen along the base of the sneaker. Other key features include the green mesh panel with the small pink Swoosh logo inside of it on the lateral and medial sides. It is constructed of leather and mesh.

Sneaker fans will definitely love the clean lines of the Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach.” The green mesh at the toe base is pretty tightly woven so it won’t probably give off much airflow at all. But the mesh does provide the shoe some flexibility (compared to leather) that makes it more comfortable when worn. The Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” really makes your feet feeling good.

The smooth white leather, that runs from the toe and along base of the sneaker, gives off a matte finish. The hits of bright neon pink are the most eye-catching element of the Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach.” The pink accents may be unusual, but they aren’t really that loud, too much or too painful to the eyes, so you could pretty much say it’s much a “wearable” sneaker fashion-wise. The small wave of neon pink even makes the shoe to appear larger than entire base of the sneaker.

On top of the padded mesh tongue is a sewn-on green leather patch with the pink Swoosh logo in the middle. The insole is also green, with the white Swoosh logo on it. The outsole is predominantly black with accents of white, pink and green.

If you feel some summery Miami vibes, then the Nike Air Max 97 “South Beach” edition is the ideal shoe for you.
