Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” edition

The Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” became one of the first colorways of the Nike Kyrie 4. It was released on January 6, 2018.

The shoe is predominantly dressed in one solid color, and this is a good option for fans of the Nike Kyrie 4 who weren’t impressed by the previous “Confetti” colorway (or found it too loud and thus difficult to wear). The Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” version, in comparison, has a more solid colorway and thus is deemed to be more wearable.
The upper of the Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” is mostly dressed in dark obsidian (or some kind of navy blue), thus the name. Like in many Kyrie editions, the “Obsidian” features a light blue dinosaur-teeth like traction on the sides, which adds the “bad-ass” factor to this shoe). The white midsole and the light blue outsole complete the overall look of this shoe.

This iteration comes with a suede-and-mesh construction on the upper. The suede one gives the shoe a premium look and feel. The toe base area features a lightweight mesh to give the shoe some flexibility. The large stitched-in Swoosh logo is located on the side, and it has the same color as does the rest of the upper. The rubber outsole is predominantly light blue with some hits of neon green. You can also see Kyrie Irving’s jersey number (#11) on the outsole, as well as the neon green Kyrie logo.

The Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian,” like all the other Kyrie’s before it, fits true to size but it also feels snug on your foot. Wide-footers may want to go up ½ size. If you have worn any Kyrie models in the past, it is highly recommended that you go with the same size that you comfortably wore in those shoes. The Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” is touted to be built to last, just like all the other Kyrie iterations.

The top of the tongue features the Kyrie logo again, but this time in blue and neon green. Looking into the inside of the shoe, the insole is totally neon green with Kyrie Irving’s signature on it.
The Nike Kyrie 4 “Obsidian” has garnered generally positive reviews from sneaker fans since it was first released. They think it does a good job of serving a dual purpose both as an efficient basketball/running shoe and as a stylish shoe.
