Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt” edition

One of the best and most talked-about releases so far this year, according to many sneakerheads, is the Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt” edition. This selection heralded the comeback of one of Nike’s most celebrated colors, Volt.

Just after releasing a previous Zoom Fly SP last March, Nike went on to launch another Nike Zoom Fly SP silhouette in “Volt” colorway. This popular lightweight runner was released on April 16, 2018 at a retail price of $150.

The Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt” sports a predominantly white translucent color base, complemented by bright and eye-catching neon green Volt accents that are seen on the midsole stripe, tongue branding, insoles as well as the lace tips.

References to Breaking2 marathon

Unlike many other recent Zoom Fly releases, the Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt” doesn’t seem to have a connection to a specific marathon or city. But it does appear to include references to Nike’s “Breaking2” campaign in 2017, wherein the leading sneakers brand launched an attempt to break the two-hour barrier for the marathon. On this campaign-slash-record-attempt, Nike used the VaporFly Elite shoes for its three participants – seasoned runners from Africa who are all medalists. But Breaking2 fell just a bit short of its two-hour goal with the winner, Eliud Kipchoge, finishing close at 2:00:25.

The digital clock graphic print on the heel makes such references, paying a little homage to Breaking2’s attempt to shatter the 2-hour marathon mark. These nice little details are another one of Nike Zoom Fly “Volt”’s distinct features, aside from its eye-popping hues.

Anyway, the Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt” isn’t as quite technical as the VaporFly, which is really engineered specifically for marathon runners. But it doesn’t matter much, right? Once you wear the Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt,” the first thing you’ll notice is that how incredibly light it feels, like it’s barely there. It’s white clean color and vivid hits of Volt coloring makes this shoe perfect just in time for the hot summer days.

The Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt,” like the VaporFly, gives your feet extra power and quickness, albeit each on its own different manner. Other VaporFly shoes have the new ZoomX sole unit for responsive cushioning and a full-length, curved carbon plate to allow more increase in energy returns. The Zoom Fly SP’s outstanding feature, on the other hand, is its sole that seems to be pointing upward at its end. Such design of the Zoom Fly SP “Volt” enables you to run really fast. Even if you’re not a marathon runner, wearing these shoes make you feel you’re like one – they will be particularly useful to you if you think you’ll be hurrying up late for lunch or an important meeting.

If you are knowledgeable of the Zoom Fly SP silhouette, it has launched previous colors such as red, green and purple, to name a few. The Nike Zoom Fly SP “Volt,” as implied before, has a translucent upper just like the earlier versions.
