Nike Shox Gravity “Metallic Gold” edition

One of the most awaited “comeback kids” of the basketball sneakers world this 2018 was The Nike Shox Gravity “Metallic Gold.” This iteration was launched on January 12, 2018, and it debuted at a retail price of $140. The current model’s original design dates all the way back to 1984, where the shoe was first conceptualized. After 16 years, the Nike Shox Gravity was finally created and unveiled to the public.

But it would be another long stretch of years before Nike released the Nike Shox Gravity with an updated look, which is now the Nike Shox Gravity “Metallic Gold.”

Like the previous models, the “Metallic Gold” features the “boing” into your hardcourt moves. It features Flywire cables that interact with the shoe laces and the new cinch lacing system which provides a dynamic, secure fit. Like many other Shox Gravity shoes, this “Metallic Gold” edition features twin plates with foam cushioning under the heel to provide those extra springs to your every step, as well as the distinct Shox comfort and style. The foam and plate design was specifically made to improve ride and rebound.

The woven mesh upper gives the Nike Shox Gravity “Metallic Gold” provides superior flexibility and breathability to your foot. The pull tabs on the heel and tongue allow for easier wearing on and taking off.

The shoe has mostly a white upper with hits of red and gold. And speaking of gold, you can see the metallic gold details on the heel counter which also shows the conspicuous and iconic Swoosh logo, also in gold.

The durable rubber outsole, on the other hand, has flex grooves which provide excellent traction and allows for a more natural movement of your foot. You can also take note of the outsole’s distinct appearance – it features a stamp-like pattern which takes its inspiration from a rocket blast. The forefoot, on the other hand, reminds one of the waters in Florida, the state where many space rockets have been launched.

In addition to the Shox technology, the unique look and texture of the shoe – from the upper down to the outsole – is one of the reasons why you should add the Nike Shox Gravity “Metallic Gold” to your basketball sneakers collection.
